ONGOING ACTIVITIES
VoxLAB produces concerts, continues with IMPROLEK evenings for testing and developing new works, continues DEL! events with specific themes and focus areas, and arranges workshops for the development of skills.
The activities are all part of a larger actualization work for the artistic development of new works.
Every year VoxLAB holds 8 IMPROLEK during spring and autumn.
IMPROLEK is our open monthly forum where we try out new ideas and work sketches, practice improvisation and discuss creative processes and the development of new vocal works.
Here, composers get the opportunity to try out sketches and ideas for new works, together with singers, writers, actors and others
artists.
#OccupyOpera is VoxLAB's free summer workshop for children and young people, which has been organized every year since 2018 with support from the Norwegian Culture Council. VoxLAB aims to build expertise in music, voice use, performing arts, improvisation and artistic collaboration, in addition to providing experience of what opera and performing arts can be. At the summer workshop, young performers get a unique opportunity to work together with professional singers, performers and instructors from different musical, scenic and ethnic backgrounds.

VoxLAB's VårFEST is a 3-day festival with a focus on newly written vocal repertoire and new musical theatre, and has been organized since 2019.
The content is mainly new vocal repertoire developed by composers working with an experimental vocal expression. Through concerts, workshops and ongoing collaboration with VoxLAB, composers get the opportunity to develop new works and share them with others.

VoxLAB in collaboration with Drivhuset Biermannsgården is organizing this year's outdoor SUNSHINE CONCERT at Biermannsgården on 21 December.

VoxLAB continues its collaboration with Propellen Teater and organizes reading tests of librettos in development, read and/or sung by actors and singers.
Composers thus get to test their ideas in front of an audience.

VoxLAB is planning a one-day event with
"matchmaking" for composers and singers in May 2019. This will be a workshop where singers
presents himself to the composers and the composers also get the opportunity to present themselves to the singers and launch their plans for new works, themes or working methods. In this way, an arena is created where composers and singers can make contact for further collaboration.
