VoxLAB in collaboration with the Oslo Academy of the Arts presents a two-day seminar with a focus on opera pedagogy and young performers. The aim of the conference is to examine the educational practices needed to interest children and young people in opera. Improvisation, the use of technology to renew opera as an art form, and group development of composition will be central topics.

The conference takes place after a one-week workshop with children and young people at KHIO under the auspices of VoxLAB (#OccupyOpera) and

in advance of the festival VårFEST'22 "New Constellations" - a festival with a focus on new music-dramatic works.
The results of the #OccupyOpera workshop are displayed and discussed. International guest composers and performers from the festival VårFEST contribute as speakers at the conference.
